Still at its original condition the vacation resort  lays at the west coast of Corfu island. A bizar rock in the sea and its pedants at the southern edge which is about 2 km long sandy beach bay give AGIOS GORDIS a special stamp. It is framed by steeply dropping, nearly to the water down the hanging green slopes.  A 200m long road with taverns, shops and bars forms Agios Gordis center. If you allow yourself a small walk into northern direction, you will be awarded with  beautiful quiet bays and calm small spots , where the pleasure of transparent waters, sand and sun will be assured. The Agios Gordis beach heads to the open Adriatic sea in a south Italy direction. Behind the village are the green hills of the mountains. This beach is considered to be the prettiest or at least one of the prettiest of the island of Corfu. You can play several kinds of watersports here if you like to, like waterskiing or windsurfing. Because the beach is rather large and because the road doen't pass by the beach it is not (yet) so terriblt crowded on it. In Agios Giorgios there are a couple of small hotels, supermarkets, and quite some bars and restaurants. Lots of hotels are being build, so the peace and quiet in Agios Giorgis is not going to last forever.
