Paleokastritsa is the most popular holidays resort in the west of the island. By many people it is considered as the most beautiful place on Corfu island. At PALEOKASTRITSA there are steep tree covered mountains, beautiful bays with sandbeaches, and nature is at its prettiest here. In the village there are many hotels, apartment buildings and other accommodations and you couldn't really call it a small village anymore. In spite of this the surroundings are still extremely pretty. Paleokastritsa is a bathing resort that is mainly visited by families. There are three coves with beaches and there are several other small beaches in the neighbourhood. The seawater is pretty cold here. There is plenty of accommodation, tavernas and shops to chose from. In Paleokatritsa you can do all kinds of watersports. There is a possibility for a boat trip along the coast and the caves in the area. The streets in the village are steep. All together it is a busy area, but in a spectacular setting where you can make interesting and beautiful walks.
