Sidari is situated on a very pretty and picturesque beach with beautiful rockformations, and this has changed the village into a popular holiday destination. SIDARI is less crowded that in the villages around Corfu town, but still there is a vibrant nightlife, because there are plenty of bars and places where you can go to in the evenings.
The (rather quiet) main road runs along the beach. Between the beach and the road there are tavernas and shops and these stop most of the noise from the cars and the other traffic. There is a variety in hotels to pick from, most of them being small family hotels. Really large hotels are not to be found in Sidari (yet). Besides these hotels there are some villas and orchards. In the direct surroundings of Sidari you can see the remains of one of the most ancient settlements on Corfu that is uncovered. The best known place in SIDARI is the Canal d'Amour, where the waves of the sea have in time turned a tunnel in the soft sandstone into a canal.
